GRADE 2

Welcome back to school everyone for 2018 and a warm welcome to our new students as well.

One of our curriculum subjects is Health for this year, and we are now studying Healthy Habits, Healthy You. So far this has included viewing the sorts of foods/drinks we have in a day. So, if students choose the right sorts of foods/drinks, they’ve got a much better chance of staying healthy.

After watching a video on Food and Nutrition, i.e. “Jimmy’s Thirsty”, where the students discovered the types of fuel that they need to maintain a healthy and an active body, they competently answered the questions and shared their knowledge in a quiz.

Mohamad Chkhaydem: “Drinking water makes us healthy.”
Zainab Syeda: “We have 60% of water in our bodies.”
Ali Albayati: “Drinking water helps us to not have a dry mouth.”
Hamzah A: “Cereal, yoghurt and milk all make us healthy.”
Rajbir : “Having water makes your brain work better and you can learn more”.
Ali Ajal: “Water makes us hydrated. When we wake up, we should have a glass of water.”
Sahar : “You will sleep better if you drink water.”
Awwaab: “There is 75% of water in our brain.”
Aliye: “We need to eat rice and peanuts.”
Humza R. “Eat fruit everyday and brush your teeth three times a day.”
Zainab A. “When we go to the shops, we have to get healthy food.”
Faizan: “Eat fruit everyday.”

With all of these great ideas, it should be a good start to the year and a healthy twelve months.
